THE HISTORY CHANNEL® PROGRAMMING SLOT TO LAUNCH ON SABC2 IN SOUTH AFRICA
New York / Johannesburg (May 13, 2003) – A&E Television Networks has signed an agreement with SABC2 to launch a weekly programming block on the South African network featuring programming from THE HISTORY CHANNEL®. The announcement was made by Maria D. Komodikis, Sr. Vice President & General Manager, International Division, A&E Television Networks, and Aletta Alberts, Acting General Manager, SABC2.
Scheduled to debut on May 11, 2003, the slot will air on SABC2 on Sunday nights and will feature documentaries from THE HISTORY CHANNEL international programming catalog, including selected episodes from the Biography® and Modern Marvels series.
Through its broadcast on SABC2, THE HISTORY CHANNEL will reach 8.6 million television viewers in South Africa. THE HISTORY CHANNEL is currently available in over 60 countries worldwide, reaching more than 190 million TV households in over 20 languages.
