DIRECTV and HISTORY™ Offer 3D Tour of 'THE UNIVERSE'
First Episode of Season 5 of HISTORY'S Popular Series to Air
In 3D on n3D™ Powered by Panasonic on July 30; 2D

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., July 27, 2010 - DIRECTV and HISTORY are taking viewers on an exclusive 3D tour of the solar system. Beginning Friday, July 30, HISTORY will deliver its first 3D broadcast on DIRECTV's new 3D channel, n3D™ powered by Panasonic, with the season 5 premiere episode of its popular series, THE UNIVERSE. On the same day, DIRECTV will also offer a 2D version of this episode on The 101® Network.
The season 5 premiere of THE UNIVERSE, titled 7 WONDERS OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM, uses CGI graphics to visualize recent findings from the latest space probes, offering astonishing insight into the greatest marvels of the universe, including mountain ranges on Saturn's rings; the famous red spot on Jupiter and the indication that there may soon be another one; a volcano that would stretch the distance between Los Angeles and San Francisco if it was placed on Earth; and the highest resolution images ever taken of the lava flow on Mars that might indicate volcanic activity.
DIRECTV will air THE UNIVERSE'S 7 WONDERS OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM in 3D on n3D™ powered by Panasonic (Channel 103) and in 2D on The 101® Network (Channel 101) on Friday, July 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

From the planets to the stars and out to the edge of the unknown, history and science collide in the fifth season of HISTORY's popular series, THE UNIVERSE, which begins premiering (in 2D) on Thursday, July 29 at 9pm ET on HISTORY, and will air on Thursday's at 9pm ET thereafter.
n3D™ powered by Panasonic is now available at no additional cost to millions of DIRECTV HD customers. A Private Sessions Episode with Sting

Sting's Private Sessions episode provides a rare glimpse into one of the world's most talented musicians as he talks about his 2010 Symphonicity world tour with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Steven Mercurio.
Filmed against the awe-inspiring backdrop of Red Rocks amphitheatre in Colorado, Sting reveals that after more than 30 years of performing, it's still one of his favorite venues in the world.
The hour-long episode, hosted by Lynn Hoffman, gives viewers a taste of how Sting's classic hits - such as "Fields of Gold", "Every Breath You Take," and "Roxanne" - have been reinvented in (brand) new orchestral arrangements which he performs with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Throughout 2010, Sting's critically-acclaimed orchestral tour will visit more than 80 cities in Europe and North America.
The episode also finds Sting recalling his life before obtaining musical success as school teacher with a mortgage and a pension plan and how it allowed him to explore his dreams. He also talks about reuniting with The Police in 2007 after more than 20 years apart.

Jaws: The Inside Story, is the latest episode from The Inside Story strand to hook viewers on BIO. The June 16th premiere nabbed 300,000 total viewers and 181,000 A25-54, around 75-80% above primetime average.
The Inside Story is quickly becoming one of the most successful BIO franchises, with premiere episodes averaging 315,000 total viewers to date. On average, The Inside Story performs 85% above BIO's current YTD prime average of 170,000 total viewers. The shows have repeated well and provide consistency throughout the schedule.
"Animal House: The Inside Story" remains BIO's #1 special of all-time with 432,000 average total viewers (aired in 2008)

A&E Finishes Best Quarter in Network History Ranking as the #4 Entertainment Network in Cable

NEW YORK, NY - March 30, 2010 - Continuing its phenomenal ratings growth, after securing the best year in the network's history in 2009, A&E enjoyed its best quarter ever among key demographics behind the strength of the network's expansive slate of original series in the first quarter of 2010. Year to-date, A&E currently ranks as the number 4 entertainment cable network in the key adults 25-54 and 18-49 demographics.
The network was up 5% in adults 18-49 (756,000), 7% in adults 25-54 (805,000), 4% in adults 18-34 (330,000) and 7% among total viewers (1.6 million) edging out first quarter 2009 as the best in network history.
Versus all entertainment cable networks in 2010 to-date, A&E ranks fourth in both adults 25-54 and 18-49, and fifth among total viewers.

HISTORY's 1st Quarter 2010 numbers vs. 1st Quarter 2009:
- Total Viewers: 1.4 million, up +8% from 1st Quarter 2009 (1.3 million)
- Adults 25-54: 747,000, up +15% from 1st Quarter 2009 (648,000)
- Adults 18-49: 681,000, up +15% from 1st Quarter 2009 (594,000)
- Men 25-54: 501,000, up +16% from 1st Quarter 2009 (431,000)
- Men 18-49: 456,000, up +14% from 1st Quarter 2009 (400,000)

The recently launched AMERICAN PICKERS attracted an average of 3.7 million total viewers; 1.9 million Adults 25-54; 1.8 million Adults 18-49; 1.3 million Men 25-54; and 1.2 Men 18-49 - with 8 telecasts in 1st Quarter. 2010 to date the series is currently is the #4 series on cable and #1 new series among A25-54 impressions.

New York, NY, November 6, 2009-- A&E presents "The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty," a new real-life series that will chronicle the personal and professional lives of Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon as they prepare for a Jackson Five reunion, while also coming to terms with Michael's tragic loss. The series premieres Sunday, December 13 with back-to-back one-hour episodes beginning at 9:00pm ET/PT. The series will then move to its regularly scheduled time, Sunday's at 10:00pm ET/PT beginning December 20 on A&E.
Behind the headlines lies a captivating family, whose lives have been unwillingly played out before cameras for decades. After 40 years in the business together, Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon, have sold more than 250 million albums worldwide. Now, the brothers allow unprecedented access into their world as they record new material and rehearse for a concert celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Jackson Five. "The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty" will chronicle the brothers' relationships with each other, their parents and their children, while also balancing the demands of their professional commitments and celebrity. The series will also document the brothers' coming to terms with Michael's tragic loss and how to properly honor his legacy.

"The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty" will follow the brothers as they record vocals for a song on Michael's This Is It soundtrack; attend the bittersweet premiere of the film; travel to London to support Tito who is a special guest star for musical legend Gladys Knight at a Wembley Arena concert performance; and try to balance their obligations as The Jackson Five while also pursuing their individual interests and projects.
"The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty" is produced for A&E Network by Point 7 Entertainment with Jodi L. Gomes serving as executive producer. Also serving as executive producers are Jermaine L.
